Trade Manager Window Toolbar

Near the top of Neovest's Trade Manager window is a horizontal row of features and icons that is referred to in Neovest as the Trade Manager window toolbar. The icons in the Trade Manager window toolbar are designed to let you access a Neovest feature or window with a single click.

The following table describes the function for each of the features and icons in Neovest's Trade Manager window toolbar but does not explain in detail the windows that may be accessed by clicking on certain icons. As questions arise concerning any of the features or windows discussed in the following table, refer to the "Trade Manager" chapter of Neovest's Help documentation for further assistance.

Feature: Description:
New Lets you choose from the drop-down menu that appears whether you would like to create a new Portfolio, Targets, or Orders tab in your open trade Manager window.
Symbol/
Issuer


Lets you click to toggle between Symbol or Issuer. If you choose Symbol, then you may enter a symbol to search for and display only those orders that were sent on the entered symbol. If you choose Issuer, then you may enter a futures or options symbol and all of the contracts relating to the issuer will appear. Once you enter a symbol or issuer in this field, simply press Enter or click Search on the Trade Manager window toolbar.
Link/Unlink Window

Lets you link or unlink the "Sym" (symbol) search criteria field in a Trade Manager window to or from other Neovest windows that are open on your screen. For example, if the "Sym" search criteria field is linked and if you double-click on a particular symbol displayed in an open Neovest QuoteWatch window, then the Trade Manager window will locate and display summary data and position information on the symbol. As you click on the "Link Window" icon, the image of the link will change to appear either intact or broken. If the link appears intact, then the particular Trade Manager window's "Sym" search criteria field is linked to other Neovest windows that are open on your screen; if it appears broken, then it is not linked.

: For information regarding linking a Trade Manager window to "All" open Neovest windows or to only certain windows that are on the same channel, refer to the proceeding "All" instructions in this table.
All

Lets you choose to link a Trade Manager window to "All" open Neovest windows or to only certain Neovest windows that are on the same channel. Neovest provides 20 different channels to which you may link windows. For instance, you may choose to link two open Neovest windows to channel "1," which will cause the two windows and any other Neovest windows that are linked to "All" to automatically load the same symbol. All other open Neovest windows that are not linked to "All" or to channel "1" will not load the same symbol.

: For information regarding why you may wish to link and unlink a Trade Manager window to and from other Neovest windows that are open on your screen, refer to the preceding "Link/Unlink Window" instructions in this table.
User
Lets you enter a user name to be used as the search criteria in a Trade Manager window. Once you enter a user name in this field, simply press the Enter key or click Search on the Trade Manager window toolbar, and Neovest will use the user name to locate and display only the orders and positions in the Trade Manager window that are associated with the entered user name.
Search
search
Lets you perform a search in a Trade Manager window using an entered symbol, user name, or a Trade Manager window display field and numerical value as the search criteria.
Clear
clear
Lets you clear the "Sym," "User," and "Other" search criteria fields in a Trade Manager window. Once you click Clear, the Trade Manager window will display all of the positions for each of the accounts to which you have access.
Refresh Trade Manager
refresh
Lets you refresh the data in a Trade Manager window.

Further features may be accessed by clicking the gear icon, located on the far-right of the toolbar.

Import
import
Accesses the "Import" box, which lets you import symbol and order data into a Trade Manager window that you have saved in a file using either a Trade Manager window itself or programs outside of Neovest. Files that you may import into Neovest may be created in programs such as Microsoft Excel ® and Microsoft Notepad ®, which let you save files in a comma-, semicolon-, space-, or tab-delimited format. For information regarding how you may import symbol and order data into a Trade Manager window, refer to the "Importing Data" section in the "Trade Manager" chapter of Neovest's Help documentation.
Export
export
Lets you save and export the symbol and order data that are displayed in the "Summary" and "Position" sections of a Trade Manager window in a data file for importing into other Trade Manager windows or into other software applications. Neovest lets you determine the format in which each data file is to be saved and exported. For instance, you may choose to save the current symbol and order data that are displayed in the "Summary" and "Position" sections in a ".csv" format, which is a standard used by other programs such as Microsoft Excel ®. For information regarding how you may export Trade Manager window data, refer to the "Exporting Data" section in the "Trade Manager" chapter of Neovest's Help documentation.
Reports

Lets you construct your own Ad Hoc report. Criteria includes (1) name of the report, (2) templates for filtering and organizing data, (3) the date range from which you would like to pull data, (4) the account(s) from which you would like to pull data, (5) email addresses of desired recipients for the report, and so on. Once you have constructed your report, you may choose to run, edit, or delete the report.
Preferences

Accesses the "Trade Manager Preferences" box, which lets you (1) change certain defaults that affect how you may close individual open positions completely, (2) select a different type and size of font, and (3) change certain background and foreground colors in a particular Neovest Trade Manager window. For information regarding how you may perform these functions, refer to the "Trade Manager Preferences" section in the "Trade Manager" chapter of Neovest's Help documentation.
Fields

Accesses the "Select Display Field" box, which lets you add and remove display fields to and from the "Summary" and "Positions" sections in a Trade Manager window. For information regarding how you may add and remove display fields in a Trade Manager window, refer to the "Display Fields" section in the "Trade Manager" chapter of Neovest's Help documentation.
Make
Default
default
Lets you save a Trade Manager window that you have customized as the default Trade Manager window. Once you save a customized Trade Manager window as the default, then each time you click on the "Trade Manager" icon on Neovest's Launch Pad, your saved default Trade Manager window will appear.
Clear
Default

Lets you reset the default Trade Manager window to the original default established by Neovest.
Lock Window
lock
Lets you lock a Trade Manager window to remain open in a fixed position on your screen. Once you choose to lock a particular window using this feature, the window will remain open even if you choose to open and close one or more of your layouts.
Symbol Lookup
lookup
Accesses the "Symbol Lookup Guide" box, which lets you search for and view information regarding a particular cash item, equity, future, future spread, or index. Further features in this box let you search by "Description," "Ticker Symbol," "Bloomberg Symbol," or various symbol identification sources such as "RIC," "SEDOL," "ISIN," or "CUSIP." Lastly, Neovest lets you narrow your search results by selecting from a wide array of international exchanges or by entering key words or phrases to limit Neovest's search findings.

print
Accesses a window with several printing options that let you print the contents of a Neovest Time and Quotes window in various formats.

Accesses Neovest's Help menu documentation.
